Why this role exists

As part of the Artificial Intelligence Competency Centre (AICC), you’ll help bring intelligent automation and conversational AI to life across the campus. Think proof of concepts, agent prototypes and practical AI that improves how people learn, teach and collaborate.

What you’ll do

• Prototype and deliver AI solutions that enhance student and staff experience
• Design Conversational and Autonomous Agents to improve service efficiency and knowledge management
• Run proof of concept experiments, such as staff policy navigation or student query handling
• Collaborate across teams to integrate AI into enterprise platforms and workflows
• Support research projects applying AI for data-driven insights and automation
• Apply and refine AI ethics and governance frameworks to ensure responsible, secure AI
• Document solutions for transparency, reproducibility and future improvement

What you’ll bring

• Tertiary qualification in IT, Data Science, Analytics or a related area
• Hands-on experience designing Conversational Agents with clear conversational flow and fallback logic
• Familiarity with low-code or no-code platforms such as Power Platform, connectors, Dataverse, SharePoint and SQL
• Solid understanding of APIs and data integration between systems
• Experience with prompt engineering for generative AI solutions
• Exposure to model deployment and operationalisation practices
• Strong testing and debugging skills

Compensation & details

• Rate: $700 to $800/day incl. super
• Location: Perth-based, hybrid work options
• Contract: Until late December (likely to extend)
• Work rights: AU citizenship or PR required
• Commencement: Immediate
