Lead Data Scientist | Perth CBD | $160–170k + super

This newly created role sits within a forward-thinking analytics team that’s embedding advanced data science and AI capability across a complex, multi-channel business. You’ll be the go-to expert translating models into live business change not just prototypes.


What you’ll do

  • Design, build, and productionise predictive, ML and generative AI models delivering tangible business value.
  • Coach and mentor junior data scientists, fostering a culture of curiosity and delivery excellence.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities where data can lift performance, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Quantify ROI on data science initiatives and ensure deployed models influence real-world decisions.
  • Act as subject-matter expert for data science tools, systems, and use cases across the organisation.
  • Champion modern ML practices, from MLOps and CI/CD through to ethical AI and model governance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional analytics and technology teams to deliver integrated, scalable solutions.


What you’ll bring

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • 5+ years leading data science teams and operationalising models in production.
  • Deep expertise in predictive modelling, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, ideally with exposure to Snowflake and BI tools (Power BI or Tableau).
  • Familiarity with software engineering practices such as Git, CI/CD, and model monitoring.
  • Commercial focus; ability to translate analytics into business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills.


Team & ways of working

You’ll join a collaborative, high-performing data and insights function, reporting to the Head of Data Science & Insights. Expect a hybrid rhythm (approx. two days WFH per week) and an emphasis on mentoring, experimentation, and delivery.


Compensation & details

  • Permanent, full-time
  • $160–170k + super (depending on experience)
  • Perth North Suburbs location, hybrid flexibility
  • Australian working rights required
