Why this role exists

• A large, complex infrastructure organisation is scaling a critical data platform and needs an experienced Senior Data Engineer to strengthen delivery, performance and reliability across core pipelines.
• You’ll join an established data engineering team mid-flight, contributing from day one.

What you’ll do

• Design, build and optimise scalable ELT/ETL pipelines
• Develop and maintain performant data models in a cloud data warehouse
• Translate analytical and business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Build and optimise workloads in a distributed data processing environment
• Implement orchestration workflows to ensure reliable, timely data delivery
• Improve data quality, observability and pipeline performance
• Contribute to data platform architecture and engineering best practices
• Document pipelines, processes and design decisions

Must-haves

• 5+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer operating at an advanced/senior level
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt for transformation and modelling
• Deep experience with Snowflake including performance tuning and cost optimisation
• Solid Databricks and Spark experience (PySpark or Scala)
• Advanced SQL and strong capability in Python or Scala
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar
• Experience working on a major cloud platform

Nice to have

• Informatica (on-prem or cloud)
• Streaming technologies such as Kafka
• Infrastructure as Code exposure
• Data observability or DataOps tooling
